Gallery Night Pensacola
Gallery Night is a great time to visit downtown Pensacola for both locals and visitors. It’s a family friendly event and provides fun for all ages. Each month, there is a specific theme, and featured artists are highlighted. Featured artists include painters, sculptors, musicians, etc. The mission of Gallery Night is to create an engaging event that takes the “Arts to the Streets.”
What to Expect from Gallery Night
A good time! Gallery Night is a festival like atmosphere where pedestrians can walk in the streets of Palafox to mingle with others, eat, and enjoy entertainment. Many Palafox storefronts and art galleries remain open and host special events for patrons of gallery. One of my favorite galleries to visit during Gallery Night and any other time I am downtown is Blue Morning Gallery, which has an eclectic collection of art by many local artists. There are so many unique pieces in the gallery and so many local artists.
Restaurants located on Palafox also have small bites available to outdoors to patrons who would like to walk along the street while eating or enjoying a beverage.
Everyone will enjoy some aspect of the night – art exhibits, musical acts, kid’s activities, and/or food trucks.
Where is Gallery Night Located?
This event is hosted in downtown Pensacola on Palafox Street between Main Street and Garden Street. This is a central location in downtown Pensacola and is home to many restaurants, shops and art galleries. Palafox Street is closed between those 2 streets during the event to vehicle traffic. With no vehicle traffic on Palafox, the street has a playful atmosphere for people to walk along the street, gather with friends, and watch local artists perform.
Where Should I Park?
Parking in one of the many Paid parking lots or parking garages may be the most convenient, but there are still areas in downtown that have free parking available. Click here for an interactive map including parking locations.
What is the History of Gallery Night Pensacola?
The Downtown Arts District Association (DADA) held its first gallery night in 1991. Its beginnings included 8 participating galleries holding 3 events a year. In 2008, DADA expanded the number of events to 8. The number of gallery nights per year has since increased to 12 and the number of participating businesses and organizations has increased to over forty.
