Spring
As I am writing this, I hear the birds chirping, I am looking out my window at a green lawn and flowers in bloom. It is spring!
Have you been considering selling your home? Did you have your home on the market for what seemed like forever and no offers? Are you considering putting your home on the market in the spring? Spring has sprung! Here are some reasons you should consider selling your home in the spring.
The Weather is Just Right
I feel a little like Goldy Locks saying that, but it’s true. Living in the south, we all know that spring is the sweet spot. It is warming up, you can open your windows and doors and let the fresh air in during the morning, and you can go from indoors to outdoors without feeling a 20-degree difference in temperature. We know that this does not last long and before you know it, the heat and humidity are knocking at your door. Buyers want to start the closing process and settle in before the heat is unbearable, and the thought of packing and moving in 90+ heat seems unbearable.
School Calendars Prevail
Your potential buyers may have children who are in school. If changing school districts, many buyers may opt to start the purchase process in the spring so that when they close on the home, their children may be out of school and therefore would have fewer disruptions to their school year.
Curb Appeal
Spring provides the best time of year to showcase the curb appeal of your home. Flowers are blooming and yards are green. With a little effort you can add a little mulch, cut away some dead areas of your plants and your landscaping will look fresh for any buyers viewing your home. If the outside looks great when a buyer drives by, they are more likely to schedule a time to view the inside of the home.
Increased Demand
Historically, demand for homes between March and May is high. Buyers are also becoming accustomed to market conditions. Many have been waiting for anticipated lower interest rates, but given the stability of the market to date, buyers are coming to terms with the market as it stands and if a move is needed or wanted, they aren’t going to let the market conditions put a hold on their dreams.
